Former WiganAtheltic attacker Nick Powell has been ruled out of the English Championship clash between Stoke City and Bournemouth this weekend.
The match between Bournemouth and Stoke City is one of the last set of games in the English Championship this season outside of the playoffs. While Stoke City didn’t qualify for the playoffs, opponents Bournemouth will contest the playoffs that will determine the third and final team to join Watford and Norwich City in the Premier League next season.
Swansea City, Barnsley and Brentford are also in the playoffs.
Powell was a Wigan Athletic player for three years before he signed for Stoke City before the start of last season. He was a key player for Wigan Athletic for the whole of his three years at the club. He scored 29 goals in 92 games for Wigan Athletic in the league during his time with the club.
Apart from Powell, as many as 12 players are on course to miss the final game of the season for Stoke City. Club manager O’Neill revealed during his presser that none of the injured players would make it in time for the trip to the South Coast to face the Cherries and that two more players pulled out of their last training session on Thursday due to injuries.
The two players that pulled out of Stoke City training on Thursday are Steven Fletcher and Harry Soutthar. The duo took the number of injured players to 13.
